Crisis Intervention Team Training 40hour NAMI
Crisis Intervention Team Training is a community initiative designed to improve the outcomes of police interactions with people living with mental illnesses. CIT programs are local partnerships between law enforcement. In this training we cover: Enhance de-escalation and tactical communication skills, identify how to work with individuals and family members experiencing mental health crises, Assess for risk of suicide or harm, and Gain knowledge on mental health conditions and local mental health resources.

CMS Defensive Tactics Instructor
Instructors for this course shall hold an active Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission General Instructor Certification and a High-Liability Instructor Certification for Defensive Tactics, pursuant to 11B-20.001, 11B-20.0014, and 11B-35.001, F.A.C. Instructors must document their instructor qualifications based on training, education, experience, or professional credentials, and proficiency skill standards in the area of Defensive Tactics, under the rules. Instructor-to-Student Ratio For instruction in the Criminal Justice Defensive Tactics Course or the Defensive Tactics Instructor Course, there shall be one lead defensive tactics instructor that shall be counted in the instructor-to-student ratio of one Commission-certified defensive tactics instructor for every eight students actively engaged in defensive tactics. Actively engaged is defined as “a student actively involved in the practical performance of any one of the approved defensive tactics techniques.” See Rule 11B35.0021, F.A.C.
