American Rescue Plan, 2021 (ARP) (HEERF III) – Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students
Pursuant to the ARP, Lee County Public Schools’ Fort Myers Technical College (OPEID Number 00755800) signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement. Allocations for this program were calculated according to the formulas in ARP section 2003(1) and section 314(a)(1) of the CRRSAA.
The total amount of funds that the institution has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Fort Myers Technical College is $984,135.00 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 314(a)(1) of the new CRRSAA as of the date of submission has been $0.00.
The estimated total number of students who were deemed eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA is 511.
We are still in the application period for HEERF III Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students and do not have a final number of students who have applied and meet eligibility requirements.
The method used to determine which students will receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants was as follows: (a) full-time students enrolled during the application period of September 16, 2021 through October 6, 2021; (b) students enrolled in Adult Career and Technical Education programs, including students exclusively enrolled in distance education; (c) students had to complete an online application which was posted on the school’s website and emailed to students.
Fort Myers Technical College will prioritize students with exceptional need in the following manner:
- Students who receive the Pell Grant
- Students who receive the State Grant
- All other students who were ineligible for one of the above grants or did not submit a 2021-2022 FAFSA
Instructions and guidance were provided by the institution to students concerning the Emergency Financial Aid Grants via an online application. The application requested information, such as but not limited to, data necessary for the institution to determine eligibility and confirm student contact information.

Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) (HEERF II) – Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students
Pursuant to the CRRSAA, Lee County Public Schools’ Fort Myers Technical College (OPEID Number 00755800) signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement. The institution has provided the same amount in financial aid grants to students under Section 314(a)(1) of the new CRRSAA that it was required to provide under its original Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) Student Aid Portion award.
The total amount of funds that the institution has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Fort Myers Technical College was $253,787.00 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 314(a)(1) of the new CRRSAA as of the date of submission has been $253,787.00.
The estimated total number of students who were deemed eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA is 631.
The total number of students who applied for and received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under the CRRSAA is 287.
The method used to determine which students received Emergency Financial Aid Grants was as follows: (a) full-time students enrolled as of January 6, 2021, the first day of school subsequent to December 27, 2020, the date the CRRSAA was signed into law; (b) students enrolled in Adult Career and Technical Education programs, including students exclusively enrolled in distance education; (c) students had to complete an online application which was posted on the school’s website and emailed to students.
Fort Myers Technical College prioritized students with exceptional need in the following manner:

Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) Reporting–Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students (Final Report)
Pursuant to the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Lee County Public Schools’ Fort Myers Technical College (OPEID Number 00755800) signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement. The institution has used no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
The total amount of funds that the institution has received from the Department pursuant to the institution’s Certification and Agreement for Fort Myers Technical College was $253,787.00 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act as of the date of submission has been $253,787.00.
The estimated total number of students who deemed eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to apply for and receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 578.
The total number of students who applied for and received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act is 220.
The method used to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants was (a) full-time students enrolled as of the date of the CARES Act; (b) students enrolled in Adult Career and Technical Education programs; (c) students were eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (d) Students had to complete an online application which was posted on the school’s website and emailed to students. (e) Instructors encouraged students during class time on Zoom to apply for the grants. The amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grant each eligible student received was $1153.57.
