Control Tactics Instructor

Course Type: Mandatory Retraining

Unlike many instructor programs that simply have students memorize and demonstrate the student curriculum, the IDP is focused on developing the students ability to function as a credible instructor and coach. The objectives of each IDP is to train instructors to present functional, practical and adaptable skills to their own agency students, as well as prepare them to problem solve and troubleshoot technical and tactical issues in their own presentations. Students will: Identify the functional components of Subject Control, in order to manage resisting subjects in variety of scenarios. Apply fundamentals of Active Limb Control to control a resisting subject both standing or on the ground. Demonstrate appropriate transition and recovery techniques under realistic pressure in Force on Force Role Play Drills. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the above information and material in student teach backs, troubleshooting and detailed presentations.
